Starting the Day Right
My alarm goes off at 6:00 AM sharp, and I know it’s going to be another busy day serving customers throughout Loomis, Auburn, Granite Bay, Roseville, Rocklin, Antelope, and Citrus Heights. After grabbing my coffee and checking the weather forecast, I head to our shop to prepare for the day’s service calls.
Morning Preparation
The first thing I do is review my schedule with the dispatch team. Today’s lineup includes:
- Heating repair call in Granite Bay
- AC maintenance in Roseville
- Sheet metal fabrication project back at the shop
- Emergency heating service call in Auburn
I load my van with essential tools, replacement parts, and safety equipment. Working in HVAC systems requires being prepared for anything, so I double-check that I have everything needed for both heating and cooling repairs.
First Call: Granite Bay Heating Repair
My first stop takes me to a residential home in Granite Bay where the homeowner reported their furnace making strange noises. After a thorough inspection, I discover the issue is a worn blower motor bearing. I explain the problem to the customer and provide them with repair options and pricing.
The repair takes about two hours, including testing the system to ensure everything is running smoothly. The customer is relieved to have heat restored before the evening temperatures drop.
Midday: Back to the Shop
Between service calls, I return to our facility to work on a custom sheet metal fabrication project. This involves creating specialized ductwork for a commercial building renovation in Rocklin. Precision is key in sheet metal work, and I carefully measure, cut, and shape the materials according to the project specifications.
Afternoon Service Calls
The afternoon brings me to Roseville for a routine AC maintenance appointment. Even though it’s not cooling season, preventive maintenance is crucial for system longevity. I clean the coils, check refrigerant levels, inspect electrical connections, and replace the air filter.
Just as I’m wrapping up, dispatch calls with an emergency heating service request in Auburn. A family’s heating system has completely stopped working, and with young children in the home, this is a priority call.
Emergency Response
Emergency calls are part of what we do, especially during the heating season when families depend on their systems. Upon arrival in Auburn, I quickly diagnose the problem as a faulty thermostat that’s not communicating with the furnace. After explaining the situation to the homeowners, I replace the unit and program the new thermostat.
End of Day
Back at the office, I complete my paperwork, update customer records, and restock my van for tomorrow’s calls. Working for a company that serves multiple communities from Antelope to Citrus Heights means every day brings variety and new challenges.
As I head home, I feel satisfied knowing that families throughout our service area will sleep comfortably tonight thanks to properly functioning heating and air conditioning systems. Tomorrow will bring new opportunities to help our customers maintain comfortable, efficient homes and businesses.
